Give your accountant access to your company in filefast

Invite an accountant or colleague to work on your company tax return in filefast, with their own account and no shared password.

You can invite your accountant or a colleague to work on your company in filefast without sharing your password. They join with their own account and can see the company, its files and its returns. That makes it possible to prepare a Corporation Tax return together, with both people looking at the same information.

How to invite someone

Open your company in filefast, go to Members and enter the person's email address under Invite someone. filefast sends an invitation link. It works once and expires after seven days. You can resend or revoke a pending invitation from the same page.

The person you invite can sign in or create an account, then open the company in their own workspace. You can see who has joined on the Members page and remove a member when they no longer need access. They can also leave the company themselves.

Treat the invitation link as access to your company's information. Whoever opens a valid link can join, so send it only to someone you trust and revoke it if it reaches the wrong person.

What can an invited member do?

Members can view the company's details, figures, files and returns. They can prepare a return, review the generated documents, sign the declaration and submit it to HMRC. Submission still requires the company's Government Gateway credentials at the time of filing; filefast does not store those credentials.

There are no limited-access roles today. An invited accountant is a member, not a read-only reviewer. Members can do nearly everything the company owner can do with a return. Only the owner can invite or remove people and delete the company. Agree who will check and submit the return before you invite someone.

Work together without handing over your login

A director might add the company and its year-end figures, then ask an accountant to review the calculation and documents. Or an accountant might prepare the return while the director reviews it before filing. Both can use their own sign-in; neither needs the other's password.

filefast is in early access and focuses on Corporation Tax returns for supported small UK companies. Start your return.
